Calling all horse lovers! Learn how to draw horses and their cousins, both present and past. Horses are amongst the most ancient domesticated animals that we have come to respect and love. This week we’ll learn about many kinds of horses ranging from wild, ancestral Steppe Horses to the most adorable Shetlands. Guided art lessons each day will lead children to successful images that they can be proud of. Creative crafts and fun activities based on this week’s theme will ensure that plenty of horseplay rounds out our week.

Clay
Young clay enthusiasts will be given an opportunity to get their hands dirty and enjoy creating fun, yet surprisingly sophistaced, clay sculpture. We'll wedge, roll, coil, slab, paddle, pinch, cut and press our way through engagin clay projects each day. Everyone will be challenged at a level appropriate to their age and skill level. Campers will learn how a lump of raw clay can transform in their hands into lovely objects, useful in the home or garden. Clay pieces will be fired in our on-site kiln. A variety of decorative media—such as low-fire glazes, slips, and watercolor paint—will be used to give each project a finished appearance. Every week we'll offer new projects. No repeats.

We’ll learn how to draw dogs of many sizes and descriptions using a variety of media such as charcoal, watercolor paint, collage and more. We’ll create picture frames, dog treats from scratch, and even write a doggie diary of poetry, facts, and quotes dedicated understanding our canine friends because, as a wise woman once said, "Even the tiniest Poodle or Chihuahua is still a wolf at heart."
